HEALTH RESEARCH AND POLICY INTERNSHIP

ATI Advisory is currently seeking an Intern to join our company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on a diverse array of healthcare and aging services issues affecting older adults.
  • Draft written summaries, Excel documents/models, and/or PowerPoint presentations to provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Review external reports and publications and develop content expertise on a range of healthcare and aging issues. Summarize relevant findings to share internally with team.
  • Provide project management support, including preparation of meeting materials, scheduling meetings, and attending meetings to keep team aligned on client feedback and next steps.
  • Ensure website content is updated with news, events, and content that ATI has produced.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills
  • Ability to synthesize research findings into relevant, concise insights
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Tableau or SAS programming considered a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • High degree of professional maturity and comfortable working across multiple projects/teams
  • High level of initiative, quick learning ability, and resourcefulness
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Prior work and/or study experience in healthcare and aging services issues

Requirements:

We will consider candidates with all or a combination of the following:

  • A rising Senior undergraduate student or current graduate student majoring in public policy, public health, public administration, business, statistics, economics, mathematics, or another related field.
  • Interest in the healthcare field and in health and aging policy issues.

DURation:

This is a part-time, twelve-week internship. Hours are 20-25 per week (flexible on timing). This is a paid internship.

Analyst / Senior Analyst

ATI Advisory is currently seeking an Analyst / Senior Analyst to join our company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design research protocols and conduct qualitative and quantitative research on a diverse array of healthcare services and aging issues affecting older adults
  • Synthesize findings into executive summaries, research briefs, Excel dashboards, and PowerPoint presentations to provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Analyze applicable legislation, statutes/regulations, and policies, and summarize for internal and external audience.
  • Manage projects and/or tasks from conception through final delivery, including coordinating other members of project/task team and communicating with clients as needed
  • Present to clients and external audiences on research or other focused subject matter
  • Contribute to development of project scopes of work, proposals, and budgets
  • Contribute to business development by supporting firm’s thought leadership efforts (e.g., data analysis used in external press), drafting blog posts, and helping manage client relationships

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An undergraduate and/or graduate degree in public policy, public health, public administration, business, statistics, economics, mathematics, or other related field
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience preferred in consulting, research, program administration, or operations specific to Medicare and/or Medicaid
  • Experience independently analyzing data and preparing written summaries and visual displays that clearly convey information
  • Comfort thinking creatively, solving problems, and using good judgement to identify and question key assumptions that drive analyses and recommendations
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage and lead tasks and/or projects while providing critical insights into project design and execution
  • Ability to navigate deadlines and responsibilities for multiple projects and in collaboration with multiple project teams
  • Comfort communicating complex ideas effectively, both written and verbally
  • High degree of professional maturity
  • High level of initiative, quick learning ability, and resourcefulness
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in at least one area: healthcare policy and regulatory environment; healthcare financing and delivery; Medicare and/or Medicaid; value-based care; Medicare Advantage; long-term services and supports; and aging

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and writing skills
  • Exceptional quantitative analysis skills, including:
    o SAS programming, financial modeling, or other quantitative research experience
    o Data visualization experience (e.g., Tableau) considered a plus
    o Data science or data engineering experience considered a plus

and/or

  • Exceptional qualitative analysis skills, including:
    o Experience interpreting regulations
    o Experience assessing the impact of the policy environment on business strategy

Director

ATI Advisory is currently seeking a Director to join our company. 

ATI is at an exciting juncture in our growth, and we’re seeking a Director to join our team! The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with experience leading analytic projects and teams, has consulting expertise working with a variety of clients (or experience similar to consulting), can lead a project/analysis from conceptualization through project deliverable and completion, has strong subject matter expertise in at least one of the following: Medicare, Medicaid, LTSS, dual eligibles, managed care; and has interest in growing with our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple clients and lead engagements as primary point of contact with executive-level clients.
  • Manage multiple projects including project teams, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Build, deepen, and strengthen the value we deliver to clients and our relationships with them.
  • Contribute to business development through developing new lines of consulting services and new client relationships, and cultivating existing relationships.
  • Contribute substantially to mission and impact through analysis, content creation, and as appropriate public speaking/representation of ATI.
  • Lead primary research and/or quantitative analyses.
  • Mentor and support professional development of junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Strong subject matter expertise in at least one of the following: Medicare, Medicaid, LTSS, dual eligibles, managed care; with a preference for candidates familiar with and proficient in various data assets in at least one of the above-mentioned subject areas (e.g., public data such as Medicare Advantage enrollment files; Medicare and/or Medicaid public use files; claims/encounter data; survey data)
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant work-experience consulting to/supporting a wide range of organizations and/or clients in healthcare and aging.
  • Considerable experience conducting and delivering high quality healthcare research, strategic analysis and recommendations, and/or policy analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and knowledge across broad range of projects and sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) appropriate to different audiences and stakeholders, including strong presentation skills.
