Our chances are 50/50 that in our old age, we’ll need someone else’s help with basic activities of daily life—like bathing, dressing, eating, getting out of bed. Many families are caught off guard when it happens. Medicare doesn’t cover the long-term, ongoing services that we’ll need if we’re in that situation. If you need a lot of care, it can get expensive. The current system is not working for American families.
